The Six Key Rules not to be identified as SPAM

Unsolicited, unwanted, junk or spam email messages is the term used to describe email messages that customers don’t want.
Before sending any email to an existing or potential client you should understand clearly how to follow the Rules and not be identified as Spam by us or other email providers.
In-depth definition of SPAM you may as well find here on WikiPedia.
There are six basic email marketing previsions that you must follow in order for your e-mail marketing to be efficient and not to be identified as unsolicited commercial emails.

The Six Key Rules not to be identified as SPAM

  1. 1. The email message can not contain misleading email header information.
  2. 2. The email can not contain misleading Title and Subject line.
  3. 3. The email sender must be existing return email address.
  4. 4. All unsubscribed emails must be removed within 10 business days after unsubscribing.
  5. 5. Any commercial email must have the company name and postal address of the sender.
  6. 6. Unsolicited advertising messages must have clear identification of being commercial message and has clear notice for the recipient to unsubscribe from your recipient list.

Technical terms described in points 2, 4 and 5 are taking care of by ESPs these days, and are performed automatically, in this way e-mails correspond to all the technical criteria stated in the rule.
ESPs are making sure that your e-mails which are sent include automatic unsubscribe link as well as the name of your company and the address. Your job however is to make sure that your e-mail contains valuable information for your client, and that it is not unsolicited electronic advertising thus you will make your recipient pleased with the content you have provided, which means that your e-mail won’t be declined yet the first time you send it.
ESPs now automatically purge your e-mail database from unsubscribed e-mails and dead e-mail addresses giving you detailed reports on that. The whole process is fully computerized and it doesn’t need any human intervention whatsoever.
By following these steps, you can keep your lists clean and reap higher ROIs from your email campaigns.

Is social media really making us social?

The world is changing and so is one’s identity every now and then. Our identity doesn’t depend upon who we actually are. Rather it depends more on what our latest Facebook profile picture or Whatsapp display picture is. People know us more by our status and picture rather than our attributes. It may seem that we know a person completely and yet be oblivious of him at all.

Knowing a person has become really easy. Well, it’s a hogwash that this modern world believes in. It is because of these social media that people today are more prone to frauds and bluffs around the world. A person may apparently seem someone of higher dignity and may prove otherwise in real life.

We connect with people overseas through this technology. Sometimes even when we are not able to meet people we talk to them on a chat through Twitter, Facebook, Whatsapp, Line and so on. It is an advantage in this case. We stay connected. But does it make us social? Though connecting with people at large is being social, knowing them virtually can never make unbreakable bonds. Because you may be simply aware of just one shade of a person’s identity.

This social media is also infecting kids nowadays. They prefer playing games with friends on social networking sites and talking to them, over playing in the ground. The children attain their teens even while they are classified as kids. It makes them aware of the world around them, making them vulnerable to fall much before their age allows them. It has become quite rare for kids who don’t operate mobile media or social media through computer and laptops. It’s as if they knew typing before they learnt how to speak.

Being social was living within the society as a whole unit. Exchange of emotions and most importantly the physical presence of the person. This is lost now because of the social media. People prefer posting sympathies to people by updating a status as “RIP…” or posting it on the person’s wall rather than meeting him in person and providing support. Media just makes lives so easy. A click of a button is easier than spending hours with him wiping his tears.

Perhaps that’s the reason why people of 50 above age aren’t able to accept this form of being social. They time and again poke a finger between us and our connection with social media deeming it as an evil. Reciting stories of their childhood as to how they use to play, go around, live with cousins and spend time. Rather than wasting precious time on laptops and mobile phones.

People fall in love over this media, some even marry, some divorce, some go astray because of it while some may come together after a long time. But life today certainly revolves around this “virtual society”. If your name doesn’t appear on any of these social sites then man, you are yet to be born. It carries so much importance in our lives, more than being with someone in person. Perhaps this importance is a bane on our society. It isn’t taking us within the society, but keeping us aloof on our couch with an electronic device as a companion. Thus creating a rift between home and the world.

SEO for Beginners

Questions to ask before Beginning with SEO:
  1. What potential does the organic search channel really have?
  2. How much do I have to invest to see what type of return?
  3. How can my business even compete online when the competition is so fierce?
  4. What sorts of resources are needed to make this project work?

SEO is the practice of improving and promoting a website in order to increase the number of visitors the site receives from search engines and it isn’t just about “engine”, it is about making your site better for people too. Investing in SEO, whether through time or finances, can have an exceptional rate of return compared to other types of marketing.

Points For SEO:
  1. SEO is a Search Engine Optimization.
  2. It is a Legal Technique, 100% White Hat.
  3. It is a slow process, it will not happen overnight. Search Engines are not going to recognize your website on the first day.
  4. Always remember, Quality over Quantity, as regular quality content builds trust.

Search Engines are the roadways that navigate the targeted traffic to your website. Search Engines have two major Functions- Crawling and Building an index, and providing answers by calculating relevancy and serving results. They are answer machines that return only those results that are relevant or useful to the searcher’s query, rank those results in order of perceived usefulness.

It is both “relevance” and “importance” that the process of SEO is meant to influence. Relevance means more than simply finding a page with the right words. It all starts with the words typed into a small box. The search engines’ primary responsibility is to serve relevant results to their users.

In order to be listed in the search engines, your most important content should be in HTML Text Formats. Search engine cannot see and understand a webpage the same way a human does. Images, flash files, Java Applets and other no-text content are often ignored or devalued by search engine spiders. SEO helps the engines figure out what page is about and how it may be useful for users.

Keywords are fundamental to the search process. They are the building blocks of language and of search. Use the keywords prominently in titles, text and Meta data. The title tag of any page appears at the top of internet browsing software and is often used as the title when your content is shared through social media or republished. Using Keywords in the title tag means that search engines will “bold” those terms in the search results when a user has performed a query with those terms. This helps garner a greater visibility and a higher click through rate (CTR).

On-Page Optimization:

  1. Use the keyword in title tag atleast once. Try to keep the keyword as close to the beginning of the title tag as possible.
  2. Once prominently near the top of the page
  3. Atleast 2-3 times, including variations, in the body copy on the page.
  4. Atleast once in the Alt Attribute of an image on the page. This also brings valuable traffic to the website.
  5. Once in URL
  6. Atleast once in the Meta description tag.

Meta Robots:

  1. Index/ no index: Tells search engine about the pages to be kept for viewing purpose, and which page to be deleted.
  2. Follow/ Unfollow: If you employ ‘no follow’, the engines will disregard the links on the page for discovery and ranking purpose.
  3. No Archive: is used to restrict search engines from saving a cached copy of the page.
  4. Inospinnet: Informs the engines that they should refrain from displaying a descriptive snippet about a page from the Open Directory Project (DMOZ).

Points to remember while doing Link Building:

  1. How many links are pointing to a specific page or a domain from other unique domains?
  2. How are the links positioned and what text is included in the hyperlink on the page they live on?
  3. What are the unique characteristics of the site linking to the page or domain?
  4. Link value is determined by authority, relevance, popularity and other ranking mechanisms.
  5. If you don’t have anything valuable to offer audiences in your target country, you need to re-think your objectives.

In today’s world, the biggest risk is the one you are not taking. Take risks, it is the new normal. The social media strategy should never remain static. It is important to be aware of trends in the social sphere, re-evaluate business goals and apply the most effective tactics. While doing Digital Marketing, you should start early, start even before starting a business. Tell your customers the problems they have and this is how you are out there to solve them. Do not sell your product/features, sell the benefits to the consumers.
And, keep reminding your customers that you exist. But don’t be pushy. They once came to your door, tell them that you have not forgotten them. Digital marketing takes time, you will learn through time. The true mantra to follow while doing digital marketing is ‘Experiment’. Take one experiment in a month, do structured digital marketing.
Social Media is the secret weapon in customer service as it provides the real-time feedback and engagement. You can keep your customers up to date, and can receive the feedbacks simultaneously.

Why Brand Videos Are Important?

Videos do not sell the brand but also help in engaging the customers with the company. People remember what they like, we still remember the cartoons from the 90’s, The Turmeric ad and The old guy from the masala ad from our childhood. We love to find common grounds on which we can share, converse and connect.  Videos that follow these points give their viewers a way to talk to each other about the brand.
There are things that are loved universally like babies, cats, puppies, planes flying and videos related to sentiments and emotions of the people. The key is to make people remember something that make them happy, if you are able to do that you have got a video that is going to make you millions.

Mouth to Mouth marketing is the best way to promote your product, and people love to share the experience which they had through your video, the opinion they have created and whatever they perceived through it. The plan is to give the viewers an idea and give them the space to talk about it.

Don’t keep your videos serious, give a humorous tone to the video, and keep it light. If the idea is right, even a spark will set a fire.

The most shared videos are the ones to which we connect, and the things that we cannot say.

So, make a video and interact.

Steps For Designing a Website

Hashvash today will help you in learning the steps to create a website. Very easy steps to have a targeted approach and thinking.
1)      Visualize:
Visualize...Think...Interact with yourself, know what you want, tell yourself, “I need this”. Then hire the best company in the market and tell them your approach and idea. Or if you are capable enough you can do it yourself. Remember, if you will pay peanuts, you will get monkeys.

2)      Wireframing:
The next step is wireframing. Wireframing is the design and positioning of the content on your website on a gray-scale. If it’s according to your idea, then go forward otherwise keep working on it. There are many tools on the internet by which you can wireframe your website or you can ask from your service provider for the same. By the end of this you will know, how your website will appear to its target users.

3)      Design:
This is the most important step for any product or service because by design you will connect and build loyalty among your users. Always think before finalizing your design. Designing includes color combinations, indulging graphics, and placement of the content. Human eyes are habitual of seeing things at their right places, we see things left to right and top to bottom, so do it wisely.  Imagine why we always put a cherry on the top of the cake, because that’s the way we like it.

4)      Front End Development:
Now we have entered into the coding atmosphere in which most of the work will be done by your service provider, but you can keep an eye on them, by checking the code from W3C validator (wink), this application will tell you, that, in which line or in which tag the code is having a bug. So always keep an eye on that. Plus another important thing which comes with this, is the cross browser compatibility of your website. For this, many tools are available on the internet which do all the work for you like browsershots.org and many more.

5)      Development:
The development part is only associated to dynamic websites. So if you include logic and want something to come from somewhere, make sure you check it again and again by applying all the permutations and combinations which your users may apply while using your website. Today functionalities are endless and you can add as many as you want to add, but always remember quantity is not what you are searching for. So think twice before adding any new functionality on the website and ask questions to yourself whether your user actually needs it or you are just doing it because other person is doing. Always do research about the technology which you are using by thinking about its feasibility with your website.

6)      Deployment:
“Let the bird take its first flight”, this is the final step which comes after all the hard work you have done to make it live for the users. You must do all the checking at this stage or you can get it checked by your friends for reviews.
All the best for your future projects.
We at Hashvash also suggest and motivate people about the power of World Wide Web.

The Scope of Web-Designing in India

Web Design isn't art, but it’s a vision towards a clear direction, a direction that will guide each and every aspect of your design towards common goals. It is not only designing a user interface that looks good and is usable and accessible, but designing an interface that will help you accomplish your organization’s objective. The implementation of design trends, techniques and style needs to be intelligent and focused.
The scope of web designers or web designing in India is great. India being a vast country is a home to various MNCs. All the companies are on the web, as it is one of the effective tool for expanding your business, and with a lot of bogus companies providing their services in minimal amount, the future of big Web Design Agencies and Freelancer Web designers is rest assured. Sure these small companies provide you with a website in 2K or 5K, but they do not tell you the drawbacks. Your website will work, but only for a limited time, and after that, the website will stop working or the pages won’t open. Then you will have to pay double the amount to these respected and big companies.
So, rather than giving your Brand in the hands of these liars you should give it to someone who would respect it and treat it as you do.  It’s your product and your identity, its future rests in your hands, don’t destroy it by giving it to these small companies, who, will destroy your brand for just a small amount of money.

Remember, that a website is an interface, which serves a function. A clear direction is essential if you want your design to have a purpose. Ask yourself, what are you trying to achieve? What is the website’s main purpose?
